Last Alarm

It is with great sadness that we gave the Last Alarm to Ronald J. Holdwick.  Ronald passed away at home on Friday, July 2, 2010 with family by his side. After a long battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). He was born in Harbor Beach, Michigan on December 13, 1942.
He served on the Saginaw Fire Department for 22 years.
 
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, with burial at St. Andrew Cemetery. Arrangements for Ronald J. Holdwick's funeral were entrusted to McIntyre Funeral Chapel, 500 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw, Michigan.

Welcome to the Saginaw Firefighters Local 102 Web Site. We are located in Saginaw, Michigan, approximately 90 miles north of Detroit. We are Michigan's First International Association of Fire Fighters affiliate. We are also a member of the Michigan Professional Firefighters Union and the Michigan AFL-CIO.

We currently have 66 uniformed members, ranging from Firefighters, Fire Engineers, Lieutenants, Captains, Training/Safety Officer, Deputy Fire Marshal, Fire Marshal and Battalion Chiefs, all dedicated to the goal of ensuring we have fair wages, decent hours and safe working conditions. We meet the 3rd Tuesday of every month. Our union strives to be a part of our community by participating in and donating to local, state and national events such as the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon, Arson Watch, the Annual Memorial Day Parade, the Cinco De Mayo Parade, the East Side Soup Kitchen, the H.O.S.T. program (a mentoring program), visiting schools and many other civic and charitable events.

Saginaw has a population of 56,263 (2007) residents. Land area is 17.6 square miles. The Saginaw Fire Department operates 4 fire stations: Central Fire Station (Station One) with one Engine and One Ladder Truck; Fordney Park Fire Station (Station Two) with one Engine and One Ladder Truck; Hess Street Fire Station (Station Three) with One Engine and State Street Fire Station (Station 4) with One Engine.
